In the previous blogs I talked about fear and faith.  The art of waiting or the art of patience needs to be the next discussion.  The art of waiting can be an experience of not having things working right, like technology, your car, or the water heater in your basement just blew and there is water everywhere and you have a meeting, but where is the plumber. You are constantly looking at your watch because we all seem to have a clear link between time and value. That is the core of waiting.

What about if we think of waiting and patience more about the art of generosity, to others or maybe to ourselves. What about if we acknowledge that others can take longer emotionally, cognitively, spiritually or physically to “arrive” where you may want them to. Remembering that this does not devalue their worth, it is important to recognize that there is no ill intention. We have to consider that waiting can help us with reflection and that frustration comes from our own expectations placed on things that were never promised.

We when befriend the art of waiting it allows us to grow. We realize that we cannot control events but we can control responses. When the water heater blows and we have to wait for the plumber maybe this is a moment we can take for ourselves and allow life to unfold, which means you can let go of fear and have faith.
