Trusting in Your Intuition

Trust Your Intuition printed on napkin with pen and coffee cup.

Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.  Intuition is the thing that a person knows or considers likely, like an instinct feeling of knowing rather than a conscious reasoning that is based on evidence. Some people call intuition the 3rd eye of knowing.

Intuition can be suppressed by the rules in society.  Intuition is supposed to be natural, but we are often not trained to develop.  People often feel uncomfortable when a child has an intuitive vision and is often discouraged because of their uncomfortable feelings.  Intuition is natural to us all; we are all born with intuitive abilities and it is unnatural to us to be disconnected from our intuitive abilities. However, it is embedded in our society to follow the will of authority.

How do we develop our intuition?  It is about catching your own feelings and thoughts.  You need to know what your own inner voice feels like and follow it.  The first step is to know your inner voice and the voice from the external core away from influences such as social media or social pressure, or parents.  The second step is when you feel intuition, it usually is from your gut and if it is external than it will probably be from your head, your thoughts. So distinguishing what is yours in a conscious way. Acknowledge what is coming out of you is valuable and trust that it needs to come out that way, don’t judge.  This gets you back into trusting yourself.

The third step is to trust the voice to come out of you, your own voice.  Believe what is coming out and it is right for you for the situation you are in.
