What is adrenal fatigue, and what causes it?  If you are someone that has experienced childhood trauma then your adrenal glands have been producing and producing and producing excess cortisol because your body believes it is necessary for your survival.  Possibly creating this message through overthinking or negative thoughts on safety.

If you are experiencing chronic stress, tiredness, dark thinking, sleep issues and cravings for salt or sugar.  Then you might need to make some changes to your diet. Lean sources of protein, which is what is called a slow fuel burn, if you eat more protein then the logic is it will naturally increase your energy levels.  Ultimately you want to decrease the adrenal gland function. You should consider avoiding the following foods: white sugar, white flour, soda, fried foods, processed food and artificial sweeteners.

I also recommend eating regularly throughout the day to manage blood sugar levels. Foods that you should include are protein sources like lean meats, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts and legumes, leafy greens and all the colours of vegetables, low sugar fruits and berries, sea salt in moderation and healthy fats like olive oil and avocado.

Don’t add stress, change your diet slowly and eat mindfully.
