When I first set out to write a blog, I was nervous and not sure that I had enough to say that people would be interested in.  Here I am writing the 100th blog and still have something to say.  The google algorithms are telling me that people are still interested, and I am getting the message out, mind and body are connected, we must be aware of both mind and body to help us heal and feel better.

If we take care of the body through taking the time with exercise and self-care our mind benefits as well. We decrease the stress, and relaxation occurs and the mind clears.  We just must listen to our body and develop our own personal self-care routine; take it slow so that you will be apt to adopt the healthy routine you develop. Add in one day a week of meditation and exercise and build to two then three then four and before you know it you are feeling better you are thinking better.

Agency, as Bessel Van Der Kolk MD describes it in his book, The Body Keeps the Score, agency is the technical term for the feeling of being in charge of your life, knowing where you stand, knowing that you have a say in what happens to you knowing that you have some ability to shape your circumstances.  If you let health slide than you may lose the ability to shape your circumstances, you feel like the doctor, your boss or someone else is in charge.  Think about the journey you wish to be on!
