So we are discussing alpha, beta, theta and delta frequency and measure of brain waves within in ourselves and their cause and effects.  This can be compared to how you tune into your radio.  If any of these frequencies are deficient, excessive, or difficult to access, our mental performance can suffer.

Last Blog, number 110 I talked about the qualities of Alpha and in this Blog, I am going to discuss the attributes of Beta waves.  Beta waves of activity have a frequency of 14 and greater Hz.  It is in general regarded as a normal rhythm and is the dominant rhythm in those who are alert or anxious or who have their eyes open.  It is the state that most of the brain is in when we have out eyes open and are listening and thinking during analytical problem solving, judgement, decision making, processing information about the world around us.

Low Beta is between 12-15Hz is when you are feeling relaxed yet focused, a low Beta can reflect in conditions like ADD, lack of focused attention.  Beta at this level usually measures in people that are alert, active, but not agitated.

High Beta is about 18Hz and is connected to alertness and agitation.  These waves are connected to mental activity such as math and planning.

Some of this might make sense as to being comfortable with math, we may just have to train our brain waves into it.
