So, in Blog 110 and 111 discussed the brain waves within frequency of Alpha and Beta and in this Blog I am going to discuss Theta which is between 3.5 to 7.5 Hz. This frequency is classed as slow activity and is connected to creativity, intuition, daydreaming, fantasizing and is the holder of memories, emotions, and sensations. Theta waves are strong during internal focus, meditation, prayer and spiritual awareness.
The Theta mind is between wakefulness and sleep and relates to the subconscious mind. It is abnormal in awake adults but is perfectly normal in children up to 13 years old. It is also normal during sleep. Theta is observed in anxiety, behavioural activation and behavioural inhibition. When the Theta Hz appears to function normally it meditates or promotes adaptive, complex behaviours such as leaning and memory.
A person in a Theta state is feeling intuitive, creative, fantasy, recalling memories, imagery, creative, dreamlike, oneness and knowing. There is a physiological correlation between healing, and the integration between mind and body with Theta Hz.
